Through continuous search and surveys conducted during these years in our neighborhoods we have found out that a large part of our recorded history is slowly vanishing due to the indifference, negligence and ignorance of the residents and the municipal authority. Our city needs a high-spec historic photo archive accessible to everyone, to be of use to any prospective researcher and our grandchildren. With this in mind, it was decided that the members of KALLICHORON should take action and collect as much as possible photographic material to be digitised, archived and used in future public exhibitions and special publications.

On the occasion of the organization of the “ΙLION ROCK LIVE” event and the reunification of old music bands from Western Athens we have witnessed many professional and amateur music and poetry efforts of residents which deserve a better fate, provided that we first get them recorded.

We are already in possession of a large part of these sound recordings, yet we continue with unrelenting concentration to unveil everything that lies down the moldy house basements in Western Athens. We have the technical capacity to digitize the sound recordings (while respecting the intellectual property rights of authors) and present them along with the authors in special music concerts or music publishing collections.
